Thought of sharing with you all a healhty-tasty recepie for Porrdige(Ganji) that I had prepared when I was pregnant.Though you might feel its a lenghty process, I bet you would enjoy the end product.
Instead of horlicks , I used to have it twice in a day,you can limit 1 glass.
so here we go:-

Ingredeints:-
Cereals -
- Raagi (Finger Millet) – 2 cups
- Red rice – 1 cup
- Parboiled rice – 1 cup
- Bajra (Pearl millet) – 1/2 cup
- Jowar – 1/2 cup
- Wheat – 1/2 cup
- Oats – 1/4 cup
- Sabudana (Sago) – 1/4 cup
- Corn – 1/4 cup
- Barley – 1/4 cup
Pulses -
- Green gram (Full moong) – 1/2 cup
- Soyabean – 1/4 cup
- Chickpeas (Chana kabuli) – 1/4 cup
- Fried gram (pottu kadalai) – 1/4 cup
Nuts -
- Groundnut – 1/8 cup
- Cashew – 1/8 cup
- Almonds – 1/8 cup
- Cardomom – 1 handful
- Flax seeds – 1 handful

Note: Don't get overwhelmed by the ingredients,you can add/remove as you wish.
Step-Step :
- Raagi, Bajra, Jowar – Wash each separately in water and soak for 2 days and tie in muslin cloth for 2 days in a dark place for sprouting. Then dry in shade till completely dry.
- Green gram(Moong), Soyabean, Channa – Wash each separately in water and soak for 1 days and tie in muslin cloth for 1 days in a dark place for sprouting. Then dry in shade till completely dry.
- Red rice, Boiled rice (puzhungal arisi), Wheat – wash and dry in shade till completely dry.
- Rest of the ingredients use as it is.
How to consume:-
Mix 2 tbsp of Ganji powder in drinking water and keep it on stove , once it starts to cook , add milk as you want and then add sugar/salt as per your taste.Make it 1 glass:-)
Tip:- Have it warm evening and morning instead of Tea/coffee.
Note:- you can use this powder and add in buttermilk with little bit of salt.
In north Karnataka/maharastra,called as Ambli/Ambil.This version I have made is very healthy.
For normal Ambil: Finger Millet powder soak overnight in Buttermilk.
Mornibg ,make it boil add garlic salt and water and blend it to have a tasty healthy cool drink in summer.
